Tirana is one of the most interesting cities in the Balkan Peninsula thanks to its fascinating history. The town was nominated capital of Albania only in 1920, and, before that year, it was nothing more than a large hamlet. From 1944 to 1990, Tirana (and the rest of Albania) suffered a period of isolation during the Communist regime. Still today, traces of this historical period can be found in different areas of Tirana.

Departure to Kruja city.

Rich in history and tradition, Kruja is home of the patriots and the epicenter of Albania’s independence from the Ottoman Empire. It was here that Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg, Albania’s greatest national hero, defended the country from the invasion of the Ottomans. The National Museum dedicated to the hero is housed in the famous Kruja Castle and shows both the legendary hero’s history and the traditional way of life of the city’s population. The city’s famous bazaar serves as a bridge between this glorious past and the present, offering a rich array of traditional products made from local artisans.

Departure to Shkodra City.

This multifaceted city has had a traditionally rich artistic life and an enormous contribution to Albanian culture.

A city of myths and legends, the foundations of the famous Castle of Shkodra are said to be held by the body of Rozafa, the beautiful young mother who sacrificed herself for it. You will find that this naturally beautiful city has an abundance of mirrors in the Adriatic Sea, the Lake of Shkodra and the Buna River.

Departure from Shkodra to Theth at 09:00.

Theth has emerged as a village worth visiting, featuring an iconic small Catholic church nestled amidst the sharp peaks of the Shala Valley. While the village has expanded its capacity to accommodate hikers from around the world, it has retained its authentic mountain architecture and hospitality.

We arrive in Theth around 12PM. We procced with accommodation in the guesthouse. Lunch consumption and then start to visit the village.

Places to visit in Theth:

-Church of the village ( Built in 1892 )

-Lock-in Tower or the Tower of Reconciliation it is an old tower where more than 300 blood feud conflicts are reconciled. It was used by the inhabitants from all of the areas of Shale. This tower was built four centuries ago and was used to reconcile the parties who were in blood feud conflict. When a person committed murder, he had the right to get one committee led by the old and respectful village leader to evaluate the disputed case.

-Grunasi Waterfall

Return to the guesthouse. Dinner consumption. After the dinner we enjoy the fireplace with a glass of wine.

Departure from the Guesthouse to the Blue Eye at 09:00.

This is probably the most popular attraction in Theth, Albania. The blue eye is a water spring deep in the mountains of Albania. The water is incredibly blue, clear and cold! It looks extremely tempting to jump in and swim, but, think twice before you decide to take a swim in it. It is so cold, you really don’t want to be in there.

To go to the Blue Eye, vehicles of the area are used to Nderlysa.During our way we will stop and see the Grunasi Canyon. Then continue Hiking for about 40 minutes and enjoy the amazing nature of the Blue Eye and visit the stone baths of Nderlysa. After the visit we return to the guesthouse. Lunch consuption.

Free time to walk in the afternoon along the Shala River.

Dinner consumption.

Breakfast at the Guesthouse with fresh local products (bread, cheese, jam, honey, milk, tea, eggs, etc.).

After the breakfast the departure to lake of Shkodra at 10:00 am.

Arrival at Shiroka Promenade located along the lake of Shkodra where you can have a nice lunch to the restaurants that are very frequented from all the cities of Albania.

After Lunch, we depart to Tirana.
